When does the season start? End?
The CMU Club Softball Season takes place all year round. Tryouts are held in both the fall and spring semester.
How much does it cost to join?
Yearly dues vary each season. The money goes towards travel expensives, league fees, umpires, uniforms, equipment, and much more. Dues must be paid before our first game.
How often does the team play?
We play most of our games in the fall semester (September-November). Depending on weather, games may be bumped to the spring semester. We play each team in our conference one time in a triple headers event. Games take place on Sundays, adding up to about 5 Sundays each fall. Also, we play in one weekend tournament.
How often does the team practice?
*Practice schedules are determined based off of the majority of the teams availability.* Fall Semester: Practice can take place anywhere from two to three times a week depending on our game schedule. Winter/Spring Semester: During the winter we practice indoors roughly two times a week in the evening. Weather and field conditions will depend on when we practice outside.
Does the team play other colleges and universities?
Yes! Central Michigan Club Softball is under the Great Lake East Conference. We play triple headers against teams in our conference. Depending on our schedule, we may play other NCSA teams in non-conferences games.
How does the team travel?
We travel by carpool. *Each driver will be reimbursed for their gas money*
Do I need my own equipment (bat, glove, helmet etc.)?
No, you do not need your own equipment. However, it is highly encouraged.
I am interested in trying out, what should I wear?
We recommend you wear what you are most comfortable playing in. Dress appropriate for weather conditions.
What if I am in class during tryouts?
School ALWAYS comes first. Please get in contact with someone on the executive board and let them know immediately. Our team usually holds three days of tryouts to give girls more options to attend.
Who should I contact for more information?
